Jenny Kustra-Quinn is a veteran writer and communications and public relations professional with extensive corporate and consulting experience. She specializes in the development and execution of communications and PR strategies and programs for business, education and nonprofit clients. She is also an accomplished writer and editor, editing publications and writing articles, columns, blogs, speeches, presentations, biographies, nominations, book chapters and key messaging for organizations, executives, philanthropists and other leaders.
As a Mekky Media team member, Jenny has led accounts such as Susan G. Komen Chicago, the Illinois Office of Tourism, Devices 4 the Disabled and Center for Enriched Living. She has contributed as a writer and with PR support for many other Mekky Media clients. Jenny’s other clients have included Loyola University Chicago, Chicago Blackhawks, Tequila 1349, Chicago History Museum, Grant Park Music Festival and several suburban school districts, to name a few. For her school district work, Jenny has won 10 Awards of Excellence from the National School Public Relations Association. Previously, Jenny was vice president of communications/business development for Travel Film Productions, leading PR and social media for national PBS show “Family Travel with Colleen Kelly.” She worked in communications for Tribune Company, the Chicago Tribune and Sears, Roebuck & Co.
Jenny holds a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science, with a Spanish minor, from Indiana University. She is the proud mom of three boys. She is on the Development Board of PAWS Chicago and was communications/PR chair for the Prospect High School Marching Knights. She has been a volunteer with Lurie Children’s Hospital, ChildServ, local Parent Teacher Organizations, District 57 Education Foundation and Mane in Heaven Miniature Therapy Horses. She has done pro bono PR work for several non-profits.
