Mekky Media Relations began its multi-year partnership with the American Library Association (ALA) in January 2023, quickly achieving success in enhancing ALA’s mission to ensure access to information for all. Mekky Media has focused on strategic PR for key initiatives, ongoing storytelling around access, education and equity, all while also developing crisis strategies and positioning ALA spokespeople as media experts. The team has provided media training for two past presidents, current President Sam Helmick and president-elect Maria McCauley. Key initiatives promoted include LibLearnX, National Library Week and the ALA Annual Conference. To-date, Mekky Media has secured over 1,700 media placements, totaling more than 6.6 billion media impressions.
