Carleigh Rinefierd is an Account Manager at Mekky Media Relations and is responsible for overseeing daily client initiatives, as well as generating media buzz, content creation, and event coordination.
Carleigh comes to the team with experience promoting some of America’s most iconic brands like Cinnabon, SC Johnson, Schlotzsky’s, Molly Maid & Mr. Handyman, and Thermos Brand, to name a few. Additionally, Carleigh has managed communications for niche B2B and trade clients within the manufacturing, logistics and real estate industries.
Prior to joining Mekky Media, she worked at Margie Korshak, Inc. where she discovered her passion for working within the hospitality and non-profit sectors in Chicago. Here she led impactful programs ranging from local community partnerships and crisis communications to star-studded events and social media campaigns for clients including Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation, Gateway for Cancer Research, Shoreline Sightseeing, Bear Necessities, and Cedar Concepts Corporation. She also supported media relations for many restaurant, theater, and tourism venues around the city.
After graduating from DePaul University with a B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising, Carleigh began her career at 3rd Coast PR working on CPG and product launches. She then joined Fishman PR and honed her media relations skills to generate consumer, business and trade press in prominent outlets like The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes, Nation’s Restaurant News, and Time Magazine.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, she currently resides on the city's North Side where she spends her evenings testing recipes from her favorite food blogs and her weekends enjoying the city’s lakefront. She also serves on the Associate Board for Chicago's Housing Opportunities for Women (HOW), sits on gala committees for a variety of Chicago-based non-profits, and is a member of PRSA.
