To commemorate Giordano’s 50th anniversary in its hometown of Chicago, Mekky Media orchestrated a comprehensive PR strategy that started by partnering with the City of Chicago to officially declare April 5 as Giordano’s Pizza Day. The team amplified this citywide celebration with a strategic media day, followed by a yearlong campaign to generate meaningful coverage through inventive pitch angles. By conceptualizing and coordinating buzz-worthy events and promotions, the team achieved 700 million impressions through more than 70 media hits, including a meticulously coordinated food drop for the TODAY Show during the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
