ASK:

Susan G. Komen Chicago partnered with Mekky Media Relations to make its exclusive party at The Chicago Auto Show First Look for Charity a night to remember. The Mekky team was tasked with generating publicity for the private  Komen reception and helping create a memorable and impactful evening for charity.

RESULTS:

Through extensive outreach, Mekky Media secured Val Warner of ABC 7’s Windy City Live to emcee, and activist and breast cancer survivor Cheryle Jackson and former Chicago Bear Israel Idonije as speakers. By cultivating networks across clients, celebrity, media and VIP stakeholders the Mekky team benefitted the charity and created an unforgettable moment for Komen Chicago. Emily Mackie of Inspired Interiors designed a room experience that allowed people toimagine a world without breast cancer.  Mackie transformed the room with 100 clear scan mammograms with messages from survivors turned into a wall of digital art.

The teams came together to create an exceptionally moving and impactful experience, and Mekky Media was able to generate publicity for both Inspired Interiors and Komen Chicago, encouraging Komen to participate in the exclusive event for years to come.

“I remain impressed by Michelle and her team—they work tirelessly to make sure that Susan G. Komen Chicago receives continued media coverage across a range of mediums.  In addition, her team has worked to connect our organization with others in the field with similar interests.  These connections have resulted in creative partnerships and enhanced impact in the community.”
