In January 2020, Cicero School District 99, a large public school system, recognized the critical need to bolster its communication infrastructure. The district sought a partner capable of not only managing unforeseen challenges but also proactively shaping its narrative and highlighting its commitment to education. Mekky Media set immediate guidelines and a strategic framework to clear and orderly responses to any internal or external crisis. The team also provided ongoing strategic messaging and advice for district communications, including COVID-19 advisories and website/print content.
Throughout the year-long campaign, Mekky secured 120+ pieces of coverage across online, TV, radio and podcasts. The coverage focused on district happenings while also positioning Superintendent Rudy Hernandez and other district leadership in industry conversations about the future of education on both regional and national levels.
