Chicago’s summer of 2023 kicked off with Hyde Park Summer Fest – a two-day music festival that brings the best music, food and community together in a celebration of Chicago. Beginning a decade ago as a neighborhood craft beer festival, Hyde Park Summer Fest has grown exponentially to a national music festival – and the team called on Mekky Media to bring national buzz to the South Side ahead of the weekend.
Mekky Media hit the ground running with a PR campaign that immediately took off. In the first month alone, the team secured 48 media hits. Pre-event local coverage included features from The Chicago Tribune, The TRiiBE and The Citizen, and national outlets like The Source and Ebony shared the news. And during the festival, Mekky hosted 94 members of local and national media, from MTV to The Chicago Sun-Times, leading to on-site interviews and coverage that resulted in 34 published articles and segments over the weekend.
