AgeOptions, an existing client, turned to Mekky Media with a last-minute request for urgent support on behalf of the Illinois Association of Area Agencies on Aging (I4A) – a statewide coalition advocating for the needs of older adults. With just a couple of days to prepare before pitching began, Mekky Media was tasked with amplifying awareness around the threat of federal funding cuts to senior services, timed to coincide with I4A’s Blue Room press conference at the Illinois State Capitol on May 20, 2025, and a Statewide Day of Action on May 28, 2025.
Despite the accelerated timeline, Mekky Media quickly developed and executed a comprehensive PR strategy. This included crafting media alerts, tailored pitches and digital media kits for both events. Outreach spanned seven media markets across Illinois, with proactive pitching to local TV, radio and online outlets. The team also supported event logistics and managed media monitoring and coverage tracking throughout the campaign, which ran from May 9 to June 9.
