Rob Stepen, a Chicago-area musician and philanthropist, and his band, The Generations, enlisted Mekky Media to promote two major events within two months, both benefiting the charity Joey’s Song. The first was a record release party for their album Alternate View on 10/6, and the second, a holiday charity concert held on 12/28. Mekky Media executed a strategic PR campaign that emphasized the unique story of rediscovering and reviving forgotten 1985 tracks, along with the involvement of legendary producer Steve Albini. The campaign garnered widespread media coverage, including TV segments and online + print features, driving significant ticket sales and helping highlight Joey’s Song’s mission. The record release party was a resounding success, selling 237 tickets—nearly double the original expectation of 125. The holiday concert continued the momentum, with 236 tickets sold, more than originally expected as well.
