Westfield Old Orchard, Chicagoland’s premier shopping center and lifestyle destination, stands as the third-largest shopping mall in Illinois and attracts millions of locals and tourists each year. The center came to Mekky Media looking for a way to heighten buzz and excitement for several activations on digital platforms and increase traffic to the center’s Instagram by creating campaigns with a handful of local influencers.
Mekky researched and targeted both paid and trade partners with high engagement rates in the Chicagoland area to promote new stores including Louis Vuitton and a Lily Pulitzer pop-up, and timely angles like Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. The Mekky team also tapped into a vast list of content creators to find the best fits for each campaign, working with micro to mid-tier male and female fashion creators, mommy bloggers and lifestyle Instagrammers both in the city and suburbs.
Mekky Media helped coordinate visits, create posting guidelines and craft messaging to assist with each post. The posts spanned over the course of several months and drove attention to the center and its partners which created an uptick in social media traffic and followers, reaching over 325k profiles.
