The PRSA Chicago Skyline Awards, a program recognizing public relations professionals making an impact in the industry, has honored Michelle Mekky as Professional of the Year due to her achievements and public relations capabilities showcased while working with businesses large and small in the Midwest along with many non-profits and charitable organizations. Receivement of the award emphasizes any accomplishments or initiatives that have played a role in assisting the public relations industry in flourishing.
Michelle’s contributions to the PR industry, particularly in Chicago, reach beyond agency success, and that’s what makes her a perfect representation for Professional of the Year. She is an active mentor for early and future professionals both at Mekky Media and throughout the city. She has spoken at DePaul University as a panelist for PRelevated’s 2023 Midwest District Conference and is a proud partner of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, her alma mater.
As a true leader, Michelle’s leadership and impact also stem beyond her PR expertise. She was a moderator for the Entrepreneur session of the 2022 Women|Future Conference, an annual summit founded by the Stevie Awards, and was also recently a featured speaker for Prospect High School’s leadership program.
In 2023 alone, Michelle and the team have achieved billions of local and national media impressions for many clients, telling their stories to new audiences and helping fuel their growth.
“This is so incredible, I am truly honored and thrilled that I was not only considered but awarded for a PRSA Chicago Skyline Award,” said Michelle Mekky, CEO of Mekky Media. “Being Professional of the Year means so much to me as professionals I deeply respect have held this title before. I am so grateful to my team and our clients for giving me the opportunity to continue to grow and deliver powerful PR to the city of Chicago.”
