Mekky Media did a great deal of logistical coordination and marketing for these events beyond the scope of media relations. Celebrity emcee, Kate Flannery (of NBC’s “The Office”) was courted, booked, provided with talking points and media trained by Mekky Media the first-year of the agency’s contract. The following two years, Mekky Media recruited and supported celebrity film-critic, Richard Roeper. Additionally, Mekky Media coordinated with student universities to encourage IES Abroad Film Festival voting and winner information across their networks, drafted social media posts and recommended announcement language. Mekky Media also researched and contacted local theaters, IES-partnered universities and businesses for sponsorship opportunities and social media interaction for the film festival. Mekky media generated more than 300 million earned media impressions over the course of the three-year partnership.
Finally, Mekky Media also media trained each student nominee and prepped them for live and taped media opportunities in their local hometown and university markets and in Chicago.
